RE: RE: Remembering Chauncey Bailey Posted by June Steward on Aug 04, 2007 I remember Chauncey too. I met him through my cousin. He was just starting out in journalism and I was a journalism student. I feel he was born to be a reporter. He was passionate and dedicated. With the demise of newspapers and good writing in general...we have lost a legend. This has been an extremely sad day for all of us. I can't believe I'm writing about him in the past tense... Of all the stages of grief--it is anger that I feel right now, I cannot accept that we lost this man with integrity and spirit. We need to set up a fund to help young black journalists feel the spirit of Chauncey and bring integrity back to journalism.
